We all know the classic show Criminal Minds, but do we know which episodes are the best? There are hours upon hours of episodes, and it’s hard to find just the right ones. So here are, in my opinion, the top ten best Criminal Minds episodes available on Netflix.

10. Amplification (S4 E24)

An anthrax attack on Washington D.C. causes major panic and the dreaded thoughts of a terrorist attack. However, this happened to be a rejected chemist who only desired to show how easy it is for a terrorist to take out hundreds of people. Also, Dr. Spencer Reid finds himself in a compromising situation and struggles to find a way out.

9. Minimal Loss (S4 E3)

Dr. Reid and Agent Emily Prentiss head into a cult to investigate child abuse, and to see if they can shut it down. The cult leader claims there to be no child abuse whatsoever (which is a lie), and the episode ends in a huge standoff with the two Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU) members as hostages.

8. The Replicator (S8 E24)

This season finale had a major showdown with the main unidentified subject (unsub) of the season, the Replicator. His name is pretty self explanatory—he replicates previous murders of the BAU’s cases. There’s a solid, sad ending that completes the season beautifully.

7. Lauren (S6 E18)

Agent Prentiss is a mysterious character that we don’t know much about—until this episode. “Lauren” provides some major backstory for Prentiss, and explains how her troubled past causes her to go missing. The BAU works to find and save her, even though many team members feel betrayed by some of her actions.

6. Zugzwang (S8 E12)

Dr. Reid’s girlfriend Maeve has been kidnapped by her stalker, and the BAU is doing everything they can to rush to her aid. This is Reid’s first major love, and he doesn’t know if he can go on without her. Can they make it in time, or will they be too late?

5. Entropy (S11 E11)

Dr. Reid must use his wit and massive IQ to outsmart the deadly assassin dubbed the Black Widow. This turns out to be a major challenge for him, as her smarts were basically equal to his own—something Reid isn’t quite used to.

4. The Fisher King (S2 E1)

The season finale of season one and the premier episode of season two brings the epic case of “The Fisher King.” The unsub torments and stalks the members of the BAU, doing everything he can to make them feel unsafe. He toys with the entire team, and even ends up shooting a major character.

3. …And Back (S4 E26)

The Reaper is back after 11 years of staying stagnant, and he’s out for blood. The Reaper was Agent Aaron Hotchner’s first case, which was left unsolved, but he’s come back to haunt him. While Hotch’s life hangs in the balance, the team must work on a difficult case that includes over a hundred missing homeless people who were taken across the US-Canadian border.

2. Revelations (S2 E15)

I’m a huge Spencer Reid geek, so obviously I had to put “Revelations” high in rank. Reid is captured and drugged by Tobias Hankel, a man suffering with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and uses everything he can to outsmart his captor. The episode doesn’t really portray DID accurately, though, as in most cases people suffering from the disorder stay non-violent.

1. 100 (S5 E9)

Our beloved Hotchner must rush to save his ex-wife and son, who are in a troubling situation with the Reaper. He’s been toying with Hotch all throughout seasons four and five, making everything much more intense and personal. This episode is a fan favorite, and has an epic ending to the plot that definitely satisfies.

Our favorite BAU members, Aaron Hotchner, Jennifer Jareau, Spencer Reid, Derek Morgan, Penelope Garcia, David Rossi, Jason Gideon, Emily Prentiss, Tara Lewis, Kate Callahan, Elle Greenaway and Alex Blake, have given us the story of a lifetime and will always hold a special place in our hearts. If you ever need a good, binge-worthy show, Criminal Minds is here to help.
