The Take-out Takeover

Since there isn’t a dine-in option, many have been taking advantage of takeout delivery options

Many businesses have been struggling ever since quarantine took over the country, but for companies such as Grubhub, UberEats and DoorDash business is booming!

These three companies are taking advantage and profiting off of the fact that people aren’t leaving their houses. Families who have been having to cook over 20 meals a week are getting tired of having to make all of that food. Take out is becoming more and more common as these families look for simpler solutions.

Grubhub, UberEats and DoorDash are allowing people in quarantine to snack on food from their favorite restaurants, without possibly be exposed to the coronavirus. This has proven to be very successful and beneficial for everyone involved. These companies are helping make life a little brighter for everyone. We are getting all of our favorite meals, delivery workers are making bank and participating restaurants and their employees are still able to receive an income that not all places are getting. All in all, it’s a win-win.

“Grubhub has made quarantine so much better for my family because we’ve been able to get the food that we want,” Sophomore Paige Phillips said.

With how well these businesses are doing now, there is no idea how they will be affected after this all ends. People will be wanting to eat out again, which could cause a decline in business for delivery services. If that occurs though, these companies are hoping that the recent increase in business will be able to suffice for any possible future decline.

While many different companies are struggling, GrubHub, UberEats and DoorDash are not and are ready for business. If you need a not-so-home cooked meal, you can download the apps and order from your favorite restaurants!
