NHS is Out for Blood

Cameron Peters, Staff Writer

Once a year, St. Dominic’s National Honor Society teams up with Mercy West Hospital to offer St. Dominic the chance to save lives, and this Friday is your chance to help!

Hosted in the Sister Mary Bender Lobby, September 27 is the day to donate! The blood drive aims to recruit 80 student volunteers throughout the day to give blood. However, NHS Moderator Mrs. Goins wants to aim for at least 90 students to save as many lives as possible.

This event truly helps St. Dominic come together as a community and directly help those in need.

“We have young men and women who are willing to literally give of themselves to save lives…what better story is there?” Mrs. Goins said.

With just a small donation, you have the chance to save up to three lives. This process even includes a free t-shirt, free food and time out of class in order to donate.

If you would like to donate, you must be 16 years old and have a parental consent form, which you can find outside of room 224.  If you are interested at all, find a member of NHS or talk to Mrs. Goins. Don’t let this amazing opportunity to give back to your community pass you by!
