The girls swim team is making a big splash with half of their season under their belt. Even with the challenge of having such a young team, they continue to work harder and improve every day.

The team won their first meet in the beginning of the season and have only gotten stronger. Also, they defeated St. Charles West and Ritenour High School, two fierce competitors.

The atmosphere during practices and meets is one of the best parts of being on the team. With the amount of underclassmen, the team has been able to grow close quickly and lead each other to become stronger. The team’s bond and great spirit are never more apparent than when they are cheering each other on from the sidelines.

“The whole team lined the side of the pool and cheered, which honestly motivated me a lot,” Sophomore Kallie Nero said.

Last Saturday, the swim team took on the Fort Zumwalt North invitational meet. They put in weeks of difficult practices to perform to the best of their ability and kept a determined work ethic the entire time.

“The team always has a very positive attitude; they never complain during practices,” Coach Rachel Imming said.

The girls did a wonderful job at the Fort Zumwalt North invitational. Sophomores Kate Ryan, Katie Donnelly, Kallie Nero and Ava Kannady placed 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay. Kallie Nero placed 2nd in the 100 butterfly and 1st in the 500 freestyle. Make sure to continue supporting your girls swim team as they complete the rest of the season!
